The first generation CTS-V was something really special. It emerged in 2004 with 400 HP, featuring suspension and handling capable enough to rival the European manufacturers that dominated sport sedans of the time. Its Nürburgring lap times made it a direct competitor, and sometimes an outperformer, to the BMW M3 and M5. The CTS-V absolutely achieved the goal of matching its European competitors.
